A TEON heat pump has been installed in a historic building converted into a farmhouse in the center of Tirano. The property is connected to the district heating network, which ensures its necessary thermal energy in the winter period, while the heat pump is subservient to the production of cooling in the summer. In the new configuration, the heat pump in cooling the farmhouse rooms heats the district heating circuit. This scheme, replicated with additional heat pumps installed on the district heating loop with the same operation, achieves the required heat output in the summer phase to replace that of the current boilers supplying it.
